Heya!
I'm Cassie, and this is my website!
The thing about having a website is that you can put things on it, which is awesome. On this website, I've put things I've made - check it out:
Projects
- SCiPNET, a directory listing of SCP articles to keep track of which you've read. (And guide you towards high-rated ones.)
- Hadestown Karaoke Videos - the entire thing, start to finish. Get some friends together, pick a character each and give it a go!
- An online Astronomical Clock, which shows daylight's hours, the moon phase, and a star map. (As of yet it's locked to Sydney, planning to rewrite it and make it more useful to all!)
- A TUI app to faciliate Live Catan, the best way to play Catan, wherein everybody takes their turns simultaenously and the dice roll themselves every 20 seconds.
- A dice-rolling discord bot for Jay Dragon's The Seven-Part-Pact. Also physical ones you can 3D print!
- A cool little black hole animation pulled off in-browser with very minimal computation.
- lipu ma - a toki pona world map, to help me remember place names.

About Me
By a an unsurprising feat of selection bias, I think the most interesting things about me are the things I'm interested in. I'm sure they do reflect on me though, so I'll take that as good framing for this section.
My interests include:
- Computer Science: I did a whole dang degree on this! It's very fun to solve problems and learn things and make things. Unfortunately, as I'm leaving university, I'm finding that my entire prospective industry has been swallowed into overexcited AI speculation, which I'm not a huge fan of.
- VFX, CGI, those art forms that happen via transparent matrix multiplications inside of the 'puter! I love the way my exposure to this stuff has made me think about optics and how light works - light is very gorgeous stuff.
- Linguistics is good stuff. There's a pattern to things I'm interested in: computers, light, language. I like paying attention to some of the things we touch thousands of times a day and learning about the beautiful and underlooked systems that drive them. It's just so satisfying to know how vowels work, and linguistics fun facts are some of the best.
- The color red.
- You know I love a trip to the art gallery. As part of the VFX degree I did, I had to delve a little bit into the wonderful world of fine arts academia, which helped me fall in love with essays. I now recognise that modern art kinda hits.
- Been getting into musical theatre recently. My top three would be Hadestown, Ghost Quartet, and Cabaret. As a result, I sing a lot, which has been really lovely from a body positivity standpoint - I like my voice!
- Typesetting and bookbinding is fun, sometimes I play with Typst or a bone folder!
