Reading List
Frequently, I hear about a book and go "oooh I should read that". But reading
takes time, and I'm scared I'll forget about the books I want to read! To
that end, I maintain a little list of books I want to read on this page.
If you've any book recommendations, reach out to me!
Current Series
Anything I'm in the midst of, that I'm liable to forget about - maybe books
are yet upcoming, or I'm on a break from them.
-
This Used to be About Dungeons - Alexander Wales. It goes hard and
it's cozy and I've read most of it before, but I'm reading in ebook format
and the last 2 volumes aren't edited & released there, so I'm taking the
series kinda slow. (That way I'll have less of a wait for the finale.)
-
Gleanings: Stories from the Arc of a Scythe - Neal Shusterman.
Probably gonna take a little break after The Toll before I pick up
this one, let the trilogy breathe. Oh also there's a sequel series coming
out, that's on my radar too!
Reading List
Things that are up next... eventually.
-
Pale - Wildbow. It's soooo good but I have not stuck it all the way
through. Next Wildbow story to read after Twig.
-
War and Peace - Leo Tolstoy. I loooove the musical based off of a
small part of this book, so I want to try seeing how the threads of the
characters extend beyond the parts that I've heard put to song. It's broken
up into 17 books so maybe I can read them like Wildbow story arcs? Or maybe
I'll book club it with a friend.
-
To Sleep in a Sea of Stars - Christopher Paolini. My Dad loves this
and my brother is intrigued, so once we find our physical copy I'll
probably try to read in sync with him.
-
Ra - qntm. Bounced off this ages back but liked the vibe and want to
see if it's more readable for me on ereader than online.
-
Dune Series - Frank Herbert. I mean I love the Denis Villeneuve
movies, dude. Like Ra I've bounced off it before but want to give it
another try.
-
Farseer Trilogy - Robin Hobb. I've heard really good things but
that's about it! :p
-
Little Blue Encyclopedia - Hazel Jane Plante. Know nothing but it
caught my eye.
-
Project Hail Mary - Andy Weir. Listened to the audiobook ages back
and thought the movie was okay, if missing some of my favourite detail-rich
parts. Considering a reread to experience it in non-audio form and to
experience those missing bits again, but maybe there are enough books out
there that rereading is not my favourite move.
-
Ninth House - Leigh Bardugo. I loved Six of Crows when I read
it ages back, so want to see what that author has been up to outside of the
Grishaverse.
-
A buncha books by Jonathan Sims. What can I say, I liked
The Magnus Archives, wanna see what else he got up to!
